Once we get all signed in the lady was like you only booked a snorkeling tour. My dad swears he booked the right thing, but was more than willing to pay the extra to get the full meal deal. I blame this on his hearing while booking this thing! His hearing has really gotten bad, but who knows what happened because I know I heard him tell the person on the phone 2 kayaks but oh well. They almost were able to change it, but at the last minute unfortunately couldn't swing the change. So, just snorkeling it was, which was fine with me. Would have been fun doing both but no big deal.
We then get our wetsuits, flippers, mask, and snorkel and get ready to be shuttled to the beach. So let me tell you, it was hilarious watching me try to figure out how to put on this wetsuit! The first time I put it on I notice its inside out. I go back and change and come out and the man is like the zipper goes in the back! I felt like an idiot! At least my parents did the same thing!! :) So I go change for a third time!
Once we get to the beach, the guide gives us a few pointers and we are to practice a bit. I'm not going to lie at first it was really hard! Thought I was going to die; was taking huge breaths, but quickly became easier. As soon as I put my head in the water I was seeing fish; it was really awesome! I turn around to see how everyone else is, and I see my dad like picking my mom up to get her out of the water. I guess she didn't quite like the snorkeling. She couldn't quite figure it out, so she stayed behind on the beach and waited for us to come back.
While out in the water, it was so beautiful. All the fish and plants down there was so cool to see. We went to this cave where we were able to see sea lions. These things were so close to you at one point one was like right on me! I enjoyed just staying in once place watching them play with each other and swim around! Probably the best part of the whole snorkeling time! We kept swimming around until we turned around to come back. I was getting tired, so was ready to turn around. I was kind of sad I didn't get any pics of the awesome fish and sea lions, but oh well!
I got back to the beach and some lady had befriended mom and gave her sunscreen and some shade until we got back. Good thing, because I'm sure a sun-burned Janice would be a very unhappy person!
Once we are done me and dad go looking for food, because we are starving!! Of course, mom had packed her lunch and was just needing a place to eat. So, me and dad eating our burgers in a restaurant with mom there and her sandwich! Kind of made me laugh!!
After lunch, we went to the navy base to check out the Exchange and get some groceries for dinner at the Commissary. I, of course, had to check out the package store for something nice to drink!
Then, back home where mom and dad need their nap and I sit and blog our day! Geoff arrived shortly after us, but wanted to get in a run, so I had time to write a little! Hopefully, when he gets back we can go to the hot tub; pretty relaxing after a long day!! That's all for now; who knows where tomorrow will take us!
What an adventure!
