Balboa Park

     Well we are on our own today since poor Geoff is going to a class for the next two weeks.  I was in desperate need of an oil change, so I asked Geoff where to go.  He gave me some options and it was up to me to get it done!  I am not the best with directions, but had been to this particular shopping center with Geoff before to have ice cream.  Wherever there is ice cream, I have to be able to remember how to get there!  Much to my surprise I was able to drive us to the place with no problems!  Success!!  The little things that make me smile! :)  The people there were super nice and got my oil changed and car washed.  We roamed around the shopping center to Target and Lowe's while we waited.
     Dad was ready for some more hiking, so we went to check out Balboa Park.  I don't know, but we weren't too impressed with Balboa Park.  I mean don't get me wrong beautiful place and lots of museums but not much hiking.  Maybe we just didn't know what to do!  We did get on the tram and go for a ride around the Park.  We thought it may take us to some trail starts, but nope just a little circle.  We did see another visitor center as we rode around, which mom really thought we should go to, but wanted to stay on the tram a little longer!  When we got back to where we started, of course, lets go to the visitor center!  We noticed a map of trails on our way to walk to the visitor center, but really didn't help us.  So at the visitor center we ask the man to help us find some trails.  All he said was oh you can walk around all this place!  So dad bought a little map with the hiking trails on it and we are off.  Apparently figuring out where these trails go is really complicated!!  They have numbers that you are supposed to follow, but finding the numbers is ridiculously hard!!  We walked around as much as we could checking it all out looking for trails and checking out the park.  We found a little place to have our lunch (because you know we packed it)!  After that we headed back home.  I was pretty happy about figuring out how to get home all by myself too!  I may be figuring this place out! Ya right!!  Going to take awhile for me to figure out how to get places, but fun figuring it out.
     Well that's it for our first day on our own... Up tomorrow who knows... Dad is searching on the IPAD now trying to figure it out!!!

I did get to see the ZOO!! But didn't get to go in! Maybe if my niece and nephew come visit we can do that!
